Craft and Bakery Sale Benefits Street Ministry

Sisters at Sacred Heart will be hosting a craft and bakery sale on Tuesday, November 4, and Wednesday, November 5, in the center’s Hospitality Room. All proceeds from the sale, organized by Sister Joyce Ann Panos and her team of volunteers, will support the Sacred Heart sisters’ street ministry project serving people on the margins in greater Milwaukee.

The sale will be open both days from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and again from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Cash, checks, and credit cards are welcome!

Items available for purchase will include knitted items, Christmas stockings, kitchen towels, microwave cozies and potato pouches, plastic bag holders, quilted “gripper slippers,” baby bibs, and string cards. The bakery table will be filled with lots of tempting treats baked and donated by the sisters. We hope to see you there!

The goal of the appeal is to “reduce the risk of nuclear war, end the nuclear arms race, and commit to achieving the global elimination of nuclear weapons within a strict timeframe.” The effort was organized by a network of civil organizations working in consultation with the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs. The appeal was circulated to the missions of all United Nations member states, and then presented at the U.N.’s meeting of presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, and ambassadors.

We give thanks to everyone who planned, prepared, and participated in these opportunities to speak out for peace in our community, our country, and around the world!

St. Joseph Chapel

St. Joseph Chapel

Since the School Sisters of St. Francis opened the doors of St. Joseph Chapel more than a century ago, this Milwaukee landmark has been dedicated to the permanent service of God. Our sacred space has nourished the lives of thousands of religious women who have prayed here daily, and today we welcome you to join us for religious services, private devotion, tours, and concerts.
